Eyebrow Threading – Step by Step

Why are eyebrows so important?

Well, to begin with, a set of well-groomed eyebrows can completely transform your face and your entire look, as well as really complement your eyes. In our opinion, threading is the best temporary hair removal method there is when it comes to shaping your brows, because it plucks out the tiniest and finest hair strands right from the root, and this way, the hair don’t grow back any less than 2 weeks, and for some lucky ones, 3 weeks too. So, here’s a step by step breakdown of how we do eyebrow threading and shaping at Elite Brow Bar.

A typical session lasts anywhere between 15 to 25 minutes. And your eyebrows deserve your time.

Step 1:

Assessment & Consultation

The technician assesses your face shape and the condition of the brows you’ve walked in with, alongside discussing your preferences for the desired outlook.

Step 2:

Prepping your face

Then she applies aloe-vera gel around the brow area to relax and soften the skin, and some powder as well to prepare the skin for thread to move on it swiftly.

Step 3:

Drawing outlines

Next up, she’ll create an outline of your desired brow shape using our signature brow pencils and measuring tools (if needed), to join the lines between arch, mid-length and tail of the brow.

Step 4:

Threading – Clean-up & Trimming

The technician will brush upwards the brows using a brush, and trim the excess length using our signature scissors. Then, she’ll begin to thread out the unwanted hair, making sure not to leave any of them behind even between the eyes.

Step 5:

Threading – Shaping

Here is the tricky part, and really where the art of threading lies. The technician will reposition the twist in the thread onto a new section of hair that need to be removed, creating the perfect arch, at the right length around your eyes. Here’s where you can check your brows and ask for changes if you’d like any.

Step 6:

Applying astringents

The technician will apply a soothing astringent lotion (with aloe vera extracts) around your brow area and massage the eye area. The lotion really helps in reducing any redness and soreness.

Step 7:

Filling in

Lastly, the technician will fill any gaps between your brows using a pencil and cover the skin with brow powder/gel using a brush. This will give you darker, fuller and more noticeable brows.

Fin.
